Jeremy Hansen is a Canadian astronaut, former fighter pilot, and one of the most prominent figures in Canada’s modern spaceflight program. Selected by the Canadian Space Agency in 2009, Hansen quickly became known for his technical fluency and steady composure, contributing to astronaut training, mission support, and spacecraft communications. Before spaceflight, he served as a CF-18 pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force, where precision and discipline became the backbone of his career.
In 2023, Hansen was assigned as a mission specialist on Artemis II, marking a historic milestone as the first Canadian set to travel around the Moon. The mission, led by NASA, represented humanity’s return to deep space exploration after more than half a century, placing Hansen at the center of a new lunar era and carrying Canada’s presence farther from Earth than ever before.
